Well, here it is. Hello and welcome to Em the Book Babe’s new book blog! This is intended to be a place to share my thoughts, my book recommendations and sometimes just random facts and useless information!
About me: I’m a Mum first and foremost to two amazing kids (one blue, one pink) and a wife to my wonderful husband (without whom I wouldn’t be able to sort through the minefield of IT and blogging websites!). I am also a TOTAL book nerd!
I read anything and everything but since retiring from work when my baby Blue was born just over four years ago its been my lifeline! Without books in my life I may well have gone stir crazy! My obsession with books really exploded when baby Pink came along just over eighteen months ago and decided that sleep was just not on the agenda! Losing myself in fiction has seen me through many a sleepless night but has also opened up an Aladdin’s Cave of often mind bending delights!
I have also discovered a fantastic breed of authors, namely the Indie Authors who in my opinion have brought some of THE most amazing stories, characters and head-messing themes imaginable and are a genre of authors I hope will be here for a long time to come.
I have a Kindle (what self absorbed Book nerd doesn’t?!) but you can often find me nose deep in a real life paper back too. Got to love the feel and smell of a proper book and all of my favourite books I have accumulated on both my Kindle and the book shelf!
I am also a massive believer in “reading the book first” and will often refuse to watch a film until I’ve had the pleasure of reading the real story first! I also firmly believe that no film will EVER beat the book!
Sooooo I think that’s more than enough from me for now and look forward to sharing my ramblings on my favourite literary pieces!
